Job Description
In this role you will succeed by accurately handling payroll for several companies, ensuring all payments, deductions, and taxes are processed on time and in line with regulations. The Payroll Specialist must pay close attention to detail when entering garnishments, benefits, and retirement contributions, and be able to resolve payroll issues quickly. Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines are key. Supporting both employees and internal teams with clear communication will also be important for success.
Responsibilities:
- Handle payroll for multiple companies, making sure all payments, taxes, and deductions are accurate and completed on time
- Respond to employee questions about payroll, fix any payment issues, and process manual checks if needed.
- Enter and update employee retirement contributions, loan payments, and benefits deductions
- Help prepare payroll reports for finance and benefits teams, support quarterly updates, and act as a subject matter expert for payroll systems and testing
- Manage garnishment details in the system and communicate updates clearly

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business
- 2+ years of payroll experience
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), preferred
- Workday experience or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws and accounting principles

The base salary range for this position is $60,000–$80,000, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
