Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead mechanical design, tooling development, and additive manufacturing initiatives that enhance production efficiency and capability. This role involves designing and building custom tools, fixtures, and prototypes while optimizing production workflows and supporting continuous improvement across the facility. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who excels at developing practical shop-floor solutions that improve throughput, ergonomics, quality, and consistency.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop custom tooling, fixtures, jigs, gauges, and production aids to support assembly, inspection, and manufacturing operations.
- Lead additive manufacturing (3D printing) efforts, including rapid prototyping, tool validation, and production-use components.
- Create and maintain 3D models, detailed drawings, and documentation for tooling, process improvements, and production support.
- Collaborate with production teams to optimize work-cell layouts, ergonomics, and operator efficiency.
- Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, safety, and product quality.
- Assess and recommend new equipment, tooling technologies, and capital investments that strengthen internal manufacturing capabilities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of manufacturing engineering experience with a strong focus on mechanical design and tooling development.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software
- Hands-on experience designing and building custom tooling, fixtures, jigs, and practical shop-floor solutions.
- Practical experience with additive manufacturing (FDM/SLA), including design-for-printing and post-processing.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with fabrication, machining, assembly, and troubleshooting processes; experience in AS9100 / ISO 9001 environments preferred.
