- Obtain demographic and insurance information from the provider’s office.
- Coordinate with the OR scheduler if procedures require full sedation.
- Assign each scheduled procedure an account number, ensure precertification/authorizations have been completed, and check for ABN.
- Resolve and answer patient concerns and questions on walk-in and scheduled appointments.
- Courteously answer telephone calls and route the calls or record accurate messages for the appropriate personnel.
- A High School Diploma or GED is required; a Certified Patient Accounts Representative (CPAR) or Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) is preferred.
- Previous work experience in meeting and communicating with the public is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software packages is required.
- Essential knowledge of tests, procedures, terminology, and insurance is required.
- Work with one of the area’s most well-known clinics servicing various specialties and disciplines.
- Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm, with no weekends!
