Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to provide safe, accurate, and high-quality radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist. This role plays a critical part in patient care, treatment precision, and the effective operation of radiation therapy equipment while supporting departmental efficiency and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Accurately deliver prescribed radiation therapy treatments using multiple therapy machines and CT simulation equipment
- Rotate across treatment units while performing all assigned procedures with precision and efficiency
- Generate and maintain electronic treatment charts (e-charts) based on physician prescriptions and computerized treatment plans
- Interpret and implement complex treatment directives accurately
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation of daily treatments, charges, and patient data
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and self
- Apply clinical oncology principles, treatment techniques, and radiation physics knowledge in daily practice
- Integrate instructions from physicians and medical physicists to ensure correct dose delivery and field placement
- Assist with equipment calibration, quality assurance, commissioning, and performance monitoring
- Prepare patients for treatment, provide education, and monitor patient comfort and safety during therapy
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary care team
- Monitor patient responses to treatment and escalate concerns appropriately
- Assist in training and supervising radiation therapy students
Qualifications and Requirements
Required:
- Graduate of an AMA-accredited Radiation Therapy program
- Certification in Radiation Therapy Technology (ARRT)
- Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist license
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
Preferred:
- At least 1 year of radiation therapy experience
- Experience with Varian treatment equipment
- Computed Tomography (CT) certification

Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity.
