Job Description
The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting purchased components and materials to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This role supports receiving, purchasing, production, and quality teams by identifying nonconforming materials, performing inspections, and maintaining accurate documentation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, quality-driven, and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect incoming materials and components for quality, accuracy, and specification compliance
- Use precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and fixed gauges
- Identify, tag, and quarantine nonconforming materials and communicate issues promptly
- Support First Article Inspections (FAI), internal audits, and supplier audits (travel may be required)
- Maintain inspection records, assist with document control, and support 5S and quality initiatives
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED; related manufacturing or quality experience preferred
- Experience using measurement and inspection tools
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and ERP systems
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
- Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred
