Job Description
The Quality Engineer plays a key role in supporting product and process quality from initial concept through production. This position partners with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure robust processes, consistent product performance, and strong quality standards throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. The role focuses on identifying and resolving quality issues using structured problem-solving methods, performing root cause analysis, and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions. The Quality Engineer will also support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing variation, scrap, and cost of poor quality while improving process capability and product reliability. Success in this role requires strong collaboration across departments, a data-driven approach to problem solving, and the ability to support quality planning and product validation activities during new product introductions.

Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical liaison with customers to address quality concerns, resolve complaints, and provide data-driven responses to product or compliance issues
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action investigations for customer complaints and internal quality issues
Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methodologies - Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams during new product introduction (NPI) to ensure strong quality planning and design robustness
- Evaluate product and process changes and recommend quality improvements throughout the product lifecycle
- Develop working knowledge of precision measurement equipment such as CMMs and vision systems
- Assist in the design and development of inspection fixtures, gauges, and tooling used by quality and production
- Support selection and implementation of quality equipment, inspection systems, and process improvements that enhance product quality and productivity
Qualifications and Requirements
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering or related technical discipline
- 7–10 years of manufacturing experience with at least 3–5 years in a Quality Engineer role
- Experience with structured root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis tools and SPC methods; experience with Minitab preferred
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) principles
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and customer teams
