Job Description:
We are partnering with a leading specialty vehicle manufacturer seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to support final inspection and release of completed units. This role ensures that both internal stakeholders and end customers receive vehicles that meet strict quality, safety, and performance standards prior to shipment.
The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical aptitude, prior manufacturing inspection experience, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsiblities:
- Perform final inspections on completed specialty vehicles prior to shipment
- Conduct road testing and functional testing to verify operational performance
- Perform water testing, identify leaks, and verify corrective actions
- Verify customer options and specifications against build documentation
- Complete final cosmetic inspections and sign-off documentation
- Document defects and discrepancies through computer-based tracking systems
- Generate and maintain inspection reports
- Identify and report design or assembly deficiencies and recommend improvements
- Update production tracking systems to reflect inspection status
- Notify leadership of scheduling delays, maintenance issues, or production concerns
- Follow departmental work instructions and quality standards
- Train new inspectors as needed and provide support in the absence of lead personnel
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials
- Follow spill response procedures and safety contingency plans
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend written and verbal instructions in English
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, assembly drawings, and schematics
- Ability to read English and Metric measuring tools and use precision measuring devices
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of drivetrain and power unit operation
- Basic knowledge of 12-volt electrical systems
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Previous assembly or manufacturing experience required
- Experience using hand tools and inspection gauges
- Valid Driver’s License (required for road testing vehicles)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Effective communication skills in one-on-one and small group settings
- Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations
- Hazardous materials handling training (or ability to obtain certification)
Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years of quality inspection experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience in vehicle, heavy equipment, or specialty equipment manufacturing preferred
- Paint or finishing inspection experience preferred
- Customer service experience is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 10-hour shifts with scheduled breaks)
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. without assistance
- Ability to work in kneeling, bending, squatting, or overhead positions
- Ability to work from ladders or elevated platforms
- Ability to safely operate hand, air, and power tools
- Strong hand-eye coordination
- Ability to work in loud, industrial environments with exposure to dust, vibration, and mechanical movement
- Vision abilities including close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
Work Environment
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts
- Frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and vibration
- Occasional exposure to chemicals
- Loud industrial setting

In the spirit of pay transparency, we want to share the base salary range for this position is $20-23.00 hourly not including benefits, potential bonuses or additional compensation. If you are hired, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as individual skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition, we also believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth
