Job Description:
The Public Health Investigator supports community health initiatives by conducting tuberculosis (TB) and tuberculosis infection (TBI) disease investigations and intervention activities. This role performs case investigations, contact tracing, treatment adherence monitoring, and documentation in accordance with public health guidelines. The position also coordinates care with patients and healthcare providers to reduce disease transmission and improve community health outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct case investigations and contact tracing for TB and TBI cases
- Monitor patient treatment adherence and provide education on disease prevention
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with public health regulations
- Coordinate care and follow-up services with healthcare providers and community resources
- Perform field visits and communicate with individuals, families, and community partners as needed
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in public health, social services, or high-volume public/customer contact environment
- Valid Texas driver’s license and ability to comply with driving policies
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Must be current on required vaccinations and complete employee health screening
