Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Probate Paralegal to join a well-established elder law firm and play a key role in managing probate and trust administration matters. This position requires a highly skilled professional with the ability to work independently, oversee complex cases, and potentially lead and develop the probate department.
You will be responsible for handling probate matters from start to finish, collaborating closely with attorneys, and serving as a resource to junior staff. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned paralegal ready to step into a more senior, leadership-oriented role.
Responsibilities
- Manage probate cases from inception through closing, including preparation and filing of court documents
- Oversee trust administration, including asset tracking, distributions, and beneficiary communication
- Draft, review, and finalize pleadings, legal documents, and correspondence
- Coordinate with courts, clients, financial institutions, and third parties
- Maintain and audit case files, deadlines, and calendars to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Provide guidance and support to team members; assist in training and workflow oversight
- Conduct legal research and assist with Long-Term Care Medicaid planning and filings
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and contribute to department growth and efficiency
Qualifications and Requirements
- 5+ years of probate experience required (paralegal or legal assistant background)
- Strong knowledge of probate procedures, trust administration, and court filings
- Proven ability to manage cases independently and handle complex matters
- Leadership experience or interest in leading a probate team preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

The base salary range for this position is $47,840–$54,080, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
