Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Prior Authorization Specialist to support a high-volume clinical team by managing medication and procedure authorization requests with accuracy and efficiency. This non-clinical administrative role ensures that all prior authorization submissions meet payer guidelines and that patients receive timely access to the services and medications they need.
Responsibilities:
- Process and submit prior authorizations for medications, procedures, and services across multiple insurance plans.
- Review clinical documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and payer compliance prior to submission.
- Communicate with providers, pharmacies, and insurance companies to resolve authorization issues or request additional information.
- Track and follow up on pending authorizations to ensure timely determinations.
- Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility for required services.
- Document all authorization activity in the internal system while ensuring full HIPAA compliance.
- Assist patients and staff with authorization-related inquiries and status updates.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- One to two years of Prior Authorization Specialist experience.
- Must have experience with appeals and denials.
- Strong understanding of the authorization process, insurance plans, and medical terminology.
- Excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we want to share the base salary range for this position is $19.00 – $22.00 per hr. not including benefits, potential bonuses or additional compensation. If you are hired, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as individual skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition, we also believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth.
