Job Description
A Press Brake Setup Technician is responsible for preparing, setting up, and operating press brake equipment to produce accurate sheet metal components. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read blueprints, and experience working with fabrication machinery. The technician ensures all parts are formed to specification, performs quality checks, and maintains a safe and efficient work environment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with fabrication experience looking to advance their technical skillset.
Responsibilities
- Set up and configure press brake machines, selecting proper tooling and programming bend sequences.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job travelers to ensure accuracy.
- Perform test bends and make precise adjustments to achieve correct tolerances.
- Inspect finished components using calipers, protractors, and other measuring tools.
- Troubleshoot production issues and maintain a clean, safe workstation.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Previous experience setting up and operating a press brake in a fabrication environment.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and bend specifications.
- Proficiency with standard measuring equipment and ability to hold tight tolerances.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for prolonged periods.
