Job Description
As a Plant Manager, you will oversee daily plant operations to ensure that production runs efficiently, safely, and in alignment with company standards. You will guide teams, manage manufacturing processes, and ensure that equipment, resources, and workflows consistently support high-quality output and strong operational performance. This position requires a strategic, hands-on leader with strong mechanical and operational expertise, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. Success in this role depends on the ability to lead cross-functional teams, maintain a culture of safety and quality, and drive results in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee production operations, ensuring optimal equipment utilization, efficient workflow, and alignment of labor with budget and scheduling requirements.
- Maintain and repair production and quality control equipment, while driving proactive and preventative maintenance strategies.
- Lead safety and compliance efforts by partnering with EHSS, conducting inspections, managing accident investigations, and supporting BBS, TPM, GMP, SQF, and regulatory readiness.
- Monitor and improve operational performance through KPI tracking, production reporting, and identifying/solving manufacturing inefficiencies.
- Collaborate across facility teams on production planning, materials processing, maintenance, and other plant activities to support seamless operations.
- Develop and train Shift Supervisors, strengthening long-term plant capability and ensuring consistent adherence to safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Communicate shift performance and address issues related to safety, quality, equipment efficiency, personnel performance, schedule adherence, and material usage.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum 5-7 years of operations experience in leadership roles in consumer-packaged goods and/or food manufacturing required.
- Technical knowledge of processing and packaging is an asset.
- Demonstrated track record of building and leading high functioning teams.
- Strong knowledge and experience in all the following areas: Occupational Health & Safety, People Leadership, Lean Manufacturing, Quality Assurance.
- Ability to set direction through business acumen, strategic agility and deal with ambiguity.
- Knowledge of operating systems CMMS, ERP and MES.

The base salary for this position is $100k+ excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
