Job Description
One of the premier educational institutions is seeking an experienced Paralegal to provide comprehensive legal advice and representation across a broad range of higher-education legal matters. This role functions as a legal generalist and supports the University’s mission by addressing complex, sensitive, and high-impact legal issues affecting the institution
Responsibilities:
- Acts as the main point of contact for the Office of General Counsel; screens calls and visitors and responds to inquiries as appropriate.
- Tracks assignments in the Legal Management System, coordinates information requests, and schedules appointments.
- Supports attorneys with investigations, invoice processing for outside counsel, contract reviews, and litigation matters as needed.
- Assists with open records requests.
- Coordinates meetings, events, and travel arrangements; prepares agendas, expense reports, materials, and meeting minutes as needed.
- Conducts basic legal research as requested.
- Prepares and distributes correspondence, manages mail, and maintains office supplies and equipment.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Requires some college education, an Associate degree, or vocational/technical training, including specialized certification. Legal Secretary or Paralegal training, or a Bachelor’s degree, is preferred.
- Legal Secretary or Paralegal certification is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented and ability to work independently on assigned projects is required.
