Job Description
Are you looking to build your career in semiconductor manufacturing? We are seeking a motivated MOCVD Technician to support advanced manufacturing processes in a clean, high-tech production environment. In this role, you'll assist with Metal-Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) operations, wafer handling, inspections, equipment monitoring, and preventive maintenance while working closely with an experienced engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with technical aptitude who enjoy precision work, problem-solving, and working with advanced manufacturing technologies.
Responsibilities
- Support Metal-Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) manufacturing operations under the guidance of the engineering team.
- Load and unload semiconductor wafers while following established cleanroom procedures.
- Monitor equipment operation and reactor status during production runs.
- Perform wafer inspections using microscopes and specialized inspection equipment.
- Record production data, maintain run logs, and update production databases.
- Assist engineers with preventive maintenance and equipment repairs.
- Safely handle manufacturing materials, gases, and chemicals following all safety protocols.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), cleanroom protocols, and quality standards.
- Identify and report equipment issues or process deviations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Associate degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, or another technical field preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED with relevant technical experience will also be considered.
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline is a plus.
Experience
- Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, laboratory operations, or another technical manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience supporting MOCVD, wafer processing, epitaxial growth, or cleanroom manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Experience with materials characterization or inspection techniques is a plus.
Skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow detailed technical instructions.
- Hands-on experience handling delicate wafers or precision components using tweezers, vacuum tools, or similar equipment is preferred.
- Ability to quickly learn new manufacturing processes and technologies.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to distinguish colors and inspect small product features.
- Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment, chemicals, and controlled processes after appropriate training.
