Job Description:
A public health organization is seeking an experienced Microbiologist II to perform complex laboratory testing and analysis in support of public health initiatives. This role plays a critical part in identifying and monitoring infectious diseases, ensuring accuracy in laboratory results, and supporting public health outcomes through detailed reporting, quality control, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
A public health organization is seeking an experienced Microbiologist II to perform complex laboratory testing and analysis in support of public health initiatives. This role plays a critical part in identifying and monitoring infectious diseases, ensuring accuracy in laboratory results, and supporting public health outcomes through detailed reporting, quality control, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily laboratory testing and quality control procedures for wastewater surveillance samples
- Receive, log, and maintain samples in accordance with strict chain of custody protocols
- Ensure accurate documentation and tracking of all specimens throughout the testing process
- Adhere to laboratory safety standards and regulatory guidelines
- Collaborate with team members to support timely and reliable reporting of results
- Assist with additional laboratory duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in biology, Bacteriology, Microbiology is required.
- One year of experience in a laboratory setting dealing with bacteriology, serology or virology.
