Job Description
As an Assistant Quality Manager, you will support the development and execution of quality assurance programs within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring products meet established standards, leading quality improvement initiatives, and supporting cross-functional collaboration to drive operational excellence. Responsibilities
• Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and policies
• Manage quality issue prevention activities and customer response processes
• Investigate and resolve field quality issues through corrective and preventative action
• Conduct inspections and internal audits to ensure compliance with industry and company standards
• Supervise and support the Quality team, including documentation, performance evaluations, and time-off approvals
• Assist in training employees in quality processes and procedures
• Analyze quality data and trends to identify areas for improvement
• Develop and monitor corrective and preventative action plans
• Evaluate and monitor supplier quality performance
Qualifications and Requirements
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality assurance principles
• Experience with quality management systems (ISO, Six Sigma, or similar)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proven leadership and supervisory experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build strong professional partnerships
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience working with overseas suppliers preferred
Education and Experience
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred (professional certifications considered in lieu of degree)
• Minimum of two (2) years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing or finished goods environment
• Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience required
• Experience within automotive or similar regulated manufacturing environments preferred
