Job Description
The Maintenance Manager oversees a team of seven technicians and leads all maintenance strategy for a large-scale, continuous-operation manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for driving preventive maintenance, ensuring equipment reliability, and coordinating daily and long-term work plans—including ownership of the annual week-long shutdown. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, proven supervisory experience, and the ability to lead a capable, established maintenance team. This is a hands-on, high-impact leadership role supporting a plant with a strong operations and engineering culture.

Responsibilities:
• Lead and develop a maintenance team of five technicians, an I&E technician, and a maintenance coordinator -total team of seven (7).
• Direct and prioritize all repair, preventive maintenance, and reliability initiatives to maximize uptime
• Collaborate closely with plant leadership to support production goals and maintain 24/7 operational readiness
• Utilize CMMS systems (LLumin or equivalent) to manage work orders, PM schedules, parts, and documentation
• Maintain accurate service, maintenance, and environmental/compliance records
• Oversee daily work assignments, shift coverage, and planning for upcoming maintenance needs
• Take immediate action during breakdowns and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
• Manage parts inventory and purchasing processes to ensure timely replacement and availability
• Plan, coordinate, and fully “own” the annual plant shutdown (1 week: 6am–6pm)

Qualifications and Requirements:
• 5–10 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in manufacturing
• Prior maintenance leadership experience required; ethanol or process-industry experience a plus but not required
• Technical school education strongly preferred
• Experience with CMMS systems (LLumin or similar) and preventive maintenance programs
• Ability to exert 75 lbs occasionally and 30 lbs frequently
• Valid driver’s license
• 5–10 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in manufacturing
• Prior maintenance leadership experience required; ethanol or process-industry experience a plus but not required

The base salary range for this position is $115,000–$125,000, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
