Job Description
The HR Coordinator will support daily human resources operations by assisting with onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, and payroll-related documentation. This role responds to employee questions, schedules interviews and training, maintains accurate HR files, and helps ensure compliance with company policies and employment regulations. The HR Coordinator also prepares reports, tracks attendance and personnel changes, and provides administrative support to the HR team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare new-hire paperwork and support the onboarding and orientation process.
- Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS and ensure personnel files are complete and up to date.
- Process employee status changes, including new hires, transfers, promotions, pay changes, and terminations.
- Assist with payroll preparation by reviewing timekeeping records, attendance, deductions, and employee information.
- Respond to employee questions regarding company policies, benefits, payroll, attendance, and HR procedures.
- Support benefits enrollment, eligibility changes, and employee communications.
- Track attendance, leave requests, performance documentation, training, and required certifications.
- Prepare HR reports, spreadsheets, correspondence, and other documentation using Microsoft Office.
- Assist with employee relations matters by documenting concerns and escalating issues to HR leadership when appropriate.
- Help ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws and regulations.
- Coordinate employee training, meetings, recognition programs, and company events.
- Participate in personnel-file audits and assist with internal or external compliance reviews.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling employee information and sensitive workplace matters.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- One to three years of administrative or human resources experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of recruiting, onboarding, employee records, benefits, payroll, and HR procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience using an HRIS, applicant tracking system, or payroll/timekeeping software is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail when preparing and maintaining employee records.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills when assisting employees, candidates, and managers.
- Basic knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and workplace regulations.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of an HR team.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or other human resources certification is a plus but not required.

The base pay for this position is $32.00 excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
