Job Description:
Our client is seeking a temporary HR Business Partner to support a food manufacturing plant in Avon, Ohio. In this player/coach role, you’ll balance strategic initiatives with hands-on HR operations, partnering closely with the Plant Manager and leadership team.
Responsibilities include employee relations, hiring and onboarding, performance management, compensation administration, leave management, safety and compliance, and other day-to-day HR tasks in a USDA-regulated manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate is flexible, adaptable, and thrives in a dynamic environment, switching seamlessly between high-level strategy and operational execution. This role is key to building a high-performing, engaged workforce while supporting broader people and culture initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary HR contact for a food manufacturing plant
- Partner with plant leadership on employee relations, engagement, and performance management
- Lead hourly and associate-level recruiting, onboarding, and orientation
- Support compliance with employment laws, safety requirements, and HR policies
- Manage day-to-day HR operations, including employee records, compensation actions, and leave administration
- Coach managers and support change initiatives to build a strong, engaged workforce
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
- 3+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 1 year in a manufacturing environment
- Experience supporting plant leadership and employee populations in a fast-paced setting
- Working knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and employee relations
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and handle ambiguity
- Effective communicator with the ability to partner confidently with managers and leaders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
