Job Description:
This temporary HR Business Partner role supports a food manufacturing plant in Avon, Ohio and serves as the primary HR contact for plant leadership and employees. The HRBP partners closely with the Plant Manager and operations leaders to drive employee engagement, performance management, talent acquisition, and compliance in a USDA-regulated manufacturing environment. This role is hands-on and operational, covering employee relations, hiring and onboarding, compensation administration, leave management, safety and compliance, and day-to-day HR operations. It’s a key leadership role focused on building a high-performing, engaged workforce while supporting broader people and culture initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary HR contact for a food manufacturing plant
- Partner with plant leadership on employee relations, engagement, and performance management
- Lead hourly and associate-level recruiting, onboarding, and orientation
- Support compliance with employment laws, safety requirements, and HR policies
- Manage day-to-day HR operations, including employee records, compensation actions, and leave administration
- Coach managers and support change initiatives to build a strong, engaged workforce
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
- 3+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 1 year in a manufacturing environment
- Experience supporting plant leadership and employee populations in a fast-paced setting
- Working knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and employee relations
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and handle ambiguity
- Effective communicator with the ability to partner confidently with managers and leaders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

The base pay range for this position is $42 per hour, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
