Job Summary
Large County Transportation and Infrastructure organization is looking to hire several GIS Technicians throughout the County.
Responsibilities:
- Technician is responsible for performing routine specialized and detailed GIS mapping and analysis duties.
- The GIS Tech develops and maintains geographic data for transportation planning and civil engineering design projects using various ESRI technologies.
- Assist with specific problems to be solved, such as development of transportation planning and modeling, marketing and demographic mapping, or assessment of geologic and environmental factors.
- Must be able to Display data in the form of print andor web applications will be key in conveying map information.
- Assists with preparing, updating, revising, designing, and maintenance of maps, surveys, plats, legal descriptions, codes, decisions and reports; supports the interpretation and digitization of remotely sensed data, aerial photography, satellite imagery, and UAS.
- Uses GIS software to geo-reference digital maps to align right-of-way (ROW) or engineering plan sheets with real ground locations based on applicable data.
- Operates GIS and UAS equipment, large format printers, scanners, storage media, and viewing devices.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must be strong in using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Online.
- Associate’s Degree or higher in Civil Engineering Technology, CAD Design, or a related field.
- 5 years of professional experience in civil design with a focus on 3D modeling for infrastructure project
- Must have basic knowledge of Network Analyst Extension, Cogo tool & Georeferenced tool.
- Must be able to create and use tables and be able to join or relate them to other datasets.
- Knowledge using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, and comprehensive knowledge of GIS principles and mapping software.
- Must be knowledgeable in the following: Autodesk Civil 3D, Autodesk AutoCAD,
- Bentley OpenRoads, Bentley OpenBridge, Bentley MicroStation, Bentley ProjectWise
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, including roadway design, grading, and drainage.

If you are hired, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as individual skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth.
