Job Description
In this position, you will support daily operations within a busy metal fabrication and trailer manufacturing shop. The General Laborer will assist with preparing metal materials, supporting welding and fabrication tasks, organizing materials, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work and are interested in learning fabrication, welding support, and metalworking skills.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in loading, unloading, and transporting materials or products to designed areas
- Assist with measuring, cleaning, cutting, and preparing metal pieces for fabrication and welding
- Support welders and fabrication staff with materials and shop preparation
- Help with basic metalwork tasks such as sandblasting, grinding, and organizing materials
- Load, unload, and move materials throughout the shop as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow safety protocols and company procedures
- Perform additional shop duties as assigned to support production
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately
- Basic knowledge of metal work, sandblasting, mechanical skills, or welding is a plus
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and stand for extended periods
- Team-oriented with a willingness to learn new skills
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen
