Job Description
The Receiving & Shipping Associate is responsible for managing inbound and outbound materials using forklifts and pallet jacks while ensuring accuracy, quality, and safety. This role supports inventory control, receiving documentation, and shipping preparation for ground and LTL shipments. The associate also performs general housekeeping, preventative equipment maintenance, and inventory cycle counts to maintain an organized and efficient dock and warehouse operation.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to unload inbound materials and load outbound LTL shipments
- Receive and verify Purchase Orders, complete daily receiving logs, and report discrepancies
- Inspect materials for quality issues such as damage, shortages, or packing errors
- Manage raw material inventory, including organization, cleaning, racking, and cycle counts
- Prepare shipping paperwork including packing lists and bills of lading and process shipments using scanner equipment
Qualifications and Requirements
- LTL Shipping Experienced required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Forklift certification required
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of FedEx, UPS, and general freight operations
