Job Description
The Electrician Assistant supports licensed electricians by helping prepare job sites, organizing tools and materials, and assisting with basic installation and troubleshooting tasks. This role involves hands-on work such as cutting and bending wire, installing fixtures, and operating equipment to keep projects running safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and prepare work areas to ensure safe and efficient job site operations
- Support lead electricians with installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks
- Organize, transport, and stage tools, materials, and equipment as needed
- Measure, cut, and shape wiring and conduit for installation
- Assist with installing electrical components such as outlets, fixtures, and motors
- Help identify and resolve basic electrical issues using appropriate tools
- Operate equipment such as lifts and material handling machinery when required
- Perform general labor tasks to support overall crew productivity
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment
- Follow safety procedures and adhere to company and regulatory standards
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an electrical support or assistant role
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and installation practices
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
- Ability to follow directions and work independently when needed
- Good communication skills and teamwork mindset
- Comfortable performing physical tasks, including lifting and working in various environments
- Familiarity with troubleshooting and using standard electrical testing equipment
- Commitment to safety and adherence to company and industry standards
