Job Description:
This role is for a Labor Management Application Leader at a large healthcare system. The position focuses on leading the design, deployment, and optimization of a workforce management application suite, including time, labor, and scheduling tools. The leader will partner with operational, clinical, HR, and finance teams to drive enterprise-wide labor management initiatives, optimize productivity, support forecasting and budgeting, and standardize policies and processes. The role includes oversight of cross-functional teams, development of training programs, and delivery of analytics and reporting to guide data-informed decisions across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of workforce management applications, including time, labor, absence, and scheduling systems
- Ensure integration of labor management tools with payroll, finance, and operational systems
- Manage a cross-functional delivery team, including analysts, technical consultants, operations/clinical/HR liaisons, and vendors, through all project phases (design, build, testing, deployment, hypercare, stabilization)
- Maintain and enhance tools and infrastructure to provide accurate, timely labor productivity and utilization data
- Standardize operational policies, procedures, and productivity analytics across the organization
- Monitor labor management performance, generate dashboards, and provide management reporting to support data-driven decisions
- Collaborate with operations and finance teams on annual budgeting and forecasting to align labor analytics with organizational goals
- Develop, maintain, and deliver training materials and programs to ensure adoption of labor management tools and standardized processes
- Develop and execute long-term labor management strategies and productivity goals
- Analyze real-time and historical labor performance to identify improvement opportunities and forecast staffing needs
- Oversee daily operations, policies, systems, and procedures to support labor management and enterprise-wide consistency
- Partner with HR and operational leaders on personnel and labor spend issues
- Develop communication cadences to keep stakeholders informed on performance, staffing, and budget alignment
- Review productivity, turnover, and volume reports before approving premium or overtime spend
- Ensure labor management initiatives support system-wide financial and operational objectives
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- 7+ years of healthcare operations experience
- 7+ years of management or leadership experience
- Proven expertise with workforce/labor management systems (e.g., Oracle Time & Labor, Oracle Scheduling, Oracle Fusion Cloud)
- Experience leading ERP or system implementations and go-live initiatives
- Strong knowledge of labor productivity, utilization, forecasting, and staffing management
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to develop, deliver, and maintain training programs for leaders and staff
- Strong project management and cross-functional team leadership capabilities
- Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, and other PC applications
- Ability to interpret labor data and translate insights into actionable recommendations
- Capable of balancing multiple priorities, stakeholders, and complex organizational objectives
- Experience standardizing processes, policies, and analytics across large organizations
