Direct Care Worker / Caregiver – Group Home I 2nd Shift I $17 – $19 h/r
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Direct Care Worker within a Group Home Setting. As a Direct Care Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing support and care to individuals with diverse abilities and needs. Your responsibilities will include fostering a positive and inclusive environment, assisting with daily living activities, and promoting independence among residents.
Responsibilities
Client Support:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals in the group home.
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Foster a supportive and empowering environment for residents with diverse abilities.
Behavioral Support:
- Implement behavioral support plans as directed by the supervisor.
- Use positive reinforcement techniques to encourage desired behaviors and enhance residents' social skills.
Community Integration:
- Facilitate community outings and activities to promote socialization and integration.
- Support residents in participating in community events and programs.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident progress and daily activities.
- Report any incidents, concerns, or changes in residents' behavior to the appropriate supervisor
Communication:
- Collaborate with team members, therapists, and other professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and external service providers.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Individuals with MR/IDD ICF experience CPR/ First aid, medication admin and NCI+certification preferred
- Ability to read and write proficiently in English.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
- Must have valid drivers license with acceptable driving history
- Must be able to lift or support approximately 75 lbs either assisted or unassisted. Must be able to stoop, bend, and reach overhead.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. (full time & PRN only)
- Must be up to date with covid vaccinations.
- Must be able to work the below schedule:
2nd Shift ( Monday – Friday 3pm to 11pm ) Monday – Friday
Benefits:
- $17 – $19 per hour (depends on experience)
- Annual pay increase after 1 year of employment with exemplary work record
