Job Description:
Harris County Public Health Services is partnering with Team1Medical to seek a Dental Hygienist to support their expanding Mobile Health initiative. This role provides direct patient care, oral health education, and preventive dental services in community-based settings using portable dental equipment. The ideal candidate is passionate about public health, patient education, and delivering quality dental care to diverse populations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide dental hygiene services in community settings using portable dental equipment in collaboration with the community dental team
- Perform dental cleanings, remove plaque and tartar, and take dental X-rays
- Assess patients’ oral health and educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices
- Apply preventive treatments including fluoride and sealants
- Collaborate with dentists to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to infection control and safety protocols
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience in a dental clinic setting required
- Active Texas Dental Hygienist license required
- BLS certification required
