Controls Assembler I 1st Shift (6:00am – 4:30pm) Monday – Thursday I $17.00 h/r
Summary/ General Description:
The Controls Assembler is responsible for assembling and wiring control panels, installing panels into enclosures, and completing all internal wiring and assembly required to prepare units for testing. This role ensures all work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with specifications and quality standards.
Job Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Verify paperwork to ensure the latest revision of each order is being used
- Obtain and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and BOMs
- Assemble units per specifications using correct parts, tools, and procedures
- Load components onto panels and complete wiring per schematics
- Install completed panels into enclosures and perform all necessary electrical connections
- Assemble enclosures/cabinets per drawings (as applicable)
- Install customer-specific options per drawings and BOMs
- Verify proper operation of manual assemblies within units
- Apply all required labels to completed units
- Perform final audit/inspection prior to testing
- Collaborate with team members to maintain workflow, quality, and efficiency
- Operate overhead crane (after training) to safely move panels and enclosures
- Work overtime as needed
Qualifications:
- Electrical and/or mechanical background required
- Prior wiring experience required
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Mechanical drawings
- Wiring diagrams and schematics
- Work orders and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Proficient in the use of hand tools for assembly
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to follow written work instructions in English
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Good attendance and performance record required
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
