Job Description
One of the premier Surgery clinics in The Woodlands is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant II who will perform patient care and assist clerical and administrative staff. If this is your time to make a difference in your community, apply today!
Responsibilities:
- Escorted patients to exam rooms, obtain medical history and measures vital signs.
- Educated and may give directions to patient regarding medication and treatment plan as instructed by physician or physician assistant
- Maintained patient charts ensuring all related reports, labs and information is filed and available in patient records.
- Call in prescription refills.
- Schedules patient test, procedures and appointments.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Two to three years of Medical Assistant experience within a clinic/physician office setting is required.
- Must have obtained Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program.
- Medical Assistant Certification through an accredited professional organization (AAMA, AMT, ARMA, NCCT, NHA, NAHP, or AMCA).
- Experience in Surgery or a specialty clinic is a strong plus.
- Experience with Epic is a strong plus.
