Job Description
Join a mission-driven community organization as an Operations Accountant focused on capital projects and fixed asset management. This role ensures compliance with governmental regulations and district policies by analyzing accounting transactions and maintaining accurate records. You will manage financials for large-scale projects, oversee asset capitalization and depreciation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. This position plays a key part in driving financial accuracy and supporting district-wide improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, monitor, and report on budgets for capital project funds and departmental expenditures
- Manage contractor/architect payments and track retainage for construction projects
- Capitalize assets, maintain the fixed asset subledger, and manage depreciation entries
- Prepare financial reports including adjusting journal entries and audit reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations and district financial reporting
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related business field required, CPA or master’s degree is a plus
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in general ledger and financial reporting
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook
- Experience with ERP systems (Business Plus preferred); familiarity with fund accounting a plus

The base pay range for this position is $81,890–$99,070, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
