Job Description
The Assembly Lead is responsible for leading and coordinating the assembly team in building complete products or components, performing all assembly tasks as needed, and making decisions that impact workflow and productivity. This role ensures product quality and compliance by conducting inspections, reviewing work orders and blueprints, maintaining equipment, and completing production reports for management. The Assembly Lead also supervises and trains employees, assigns work, applies lean manufacturing principles, and safely operates production machinery and heavy equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the assembly team, assign work, determine procedures, train employees, and participate in decisions impacting the assembly process.
- Perform all assembly tasks, rotate roles as needed, operate machinery and heavy equipment (including forklifts), and maintain production equipment.
- Conduct quality checks, review work orders and blueprints, and ensure products are assembled according to specifications and standards.
- Plan assembly tasks, monitor team output, complete production reports, and communicate production levels to management using EPS systems.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous manufacturing or assembly experience required (sheet metal or stainless steel experience preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of lead or supervisory experience with the ability to assign work, make process decisions, and train and supervise assembly employees.
- At least 3 years of manufacturing experience, including 1 year of mechanical assembly, with the ability to perform and rotate through all assembly tasks.
- Experience performing quality checks, reviewing work orders and blueprints, completing production reports, and using an EPS system (minimum 1 year).
- Familiarity with 6S/lean manufacturing principles (minimum 1 year), equipment and machinery maintenance, and the ability to operate production machinery and heavy equipment such as forklifts.

The base pay range for this position is $22-$24/hour, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
