Job Description:
Become a key contributor to growth and modernization as an Actuarial Software Engineer at this dynamic and expanding organization in the New York City metro. We're seeking an Actuarial Software Engineer to join this organization. This is a unique role for someone with 3+ years of actuarial experience or exam progression and is passionate about the actuarial technology platforms with a software development focus. You'll leverage your deep understanding of annuities and GGY Axis expertise to build innovative automations, configure cutting-edge models, and drive key projects like bringing valuation online and migrating from MG Alpha, all while collaborating closely with our business teams. Responsibilities:
- Developing and Implementing Solutions: Design, develop, and implement software solutions within GGY Axis, supporting actuarial valuation, projections, cash flow testing, and other critical functions.
- Driving Automation: Build automations to streamline actuarial processes, improve efficiency, and reduce manual effort.
- Model and Data Configuration: Leverage your expertise in model-based and data-driven configuration to optimize our actuarial systems.
- Product Development Support: Collaborate on the implementation and testing of new annuity products, as we typically launch one new product annually.
- Collaboration: Work closely with business teams to understand their needs, translate actuarial requirements into technical specifications, and deliver effective solutions.
- Data Analysis: Utilize your strong data analysis capabilities to ensure data integrity and optimize system performance.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Actuarial Background: 3+ years of experience in actuarial work, or demonstrated knowledge through actuarial exams, with a desire to focus on software engineering rather than hands-on actuarial valuation.
- GGY Axis Expertise: A minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience with GGY Axis is a must.
- Annuities Knowledge: Strong understanding of annuity products and their actuarial modeling.
- Technical Acumen: Excellent technical skills and the ability to grasp complex software concepts quickly.
- Problem-Solving: A proactive and analytical approach to problem-solving.
- Communication: Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with business and technical teams.
- Programming Skills (Plus): Experience with Python, S, or R is a plus.

The base salary range for this position is $150,000 – $170,000, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
