Job Description
An established manufacturing company in Hillsboro, OH, is seeking a detail-oriented Materials Coordinator to support production operations through accurate inventory management, purchasing, and material coordination. In this role, you will ensure materials are available when needed, maintain accurate inventory records, and coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments. You will collaborate with production, purchasing, engineering, and warehouse teams to keep operations running efficiently. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, staying organized, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate material flow to production areas, stock incoming materials, and ensure parts are available at point-of-use locations.
- Place purchase orders, monitor inventory needs, review exception reports, and communicate delivery updates to production teams.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts, ERP transactions, discrepancy investigations, and Kanban system maintenance.
- Process service orders, coordinate shipments, inspect incoming materials for quantity and quality, and maintain required documentation.
- Collaborate with internal departments and vendors while following safety procedures, including forklift inspections, housekeeping, and safe material handling.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong communication, organizational, basic math, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and perform regular standing, walking, and material handling duties in a non-air-conditioned manufacturing environment.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and wear required PPE, including steel-toe shoes and eye protection.
- Preferred: Experience with Epicor/Vantage ERP systems, UPS shipping software, inventory cycle counting, Kanban, and material replenishment processes. Forklift certification is a plus.
