Job Description
The Valve Technician I is responsible for inspecting, repairing, testing, and maintaining industrial valves to ensure safe and reliable operation. This role involves hands-on work with various valve types and testing equipment in industrial environments such as refineries, chemical plants, power plants, and manufacturing facilities. The technician will diagnose mechanical issues, replace valve components, perform testing, and accurately document completed work. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level technician to develop valuable skills and build a career in industrial maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, disassemble, repair, and reassemble industrial valves
- Replace seals, seats, gaskets, packing, and other valve components
- Perform hydraulic and pneumatic valve testing and calibration
- Identify wear, corrosion, leaks, and mechanical deficiencies and recommend corrective actions
- Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, test results, and certifications
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 0–1 year of experience working with industrial valves in a plant or shop environment
- Knowledge of mechanical systems and industrial valve components
- Ability to use precision tools such as torque wrenches, calipers, and micrometers
- Ability to read technical drawings, valve datasheets, and manuals

The base pay range for this position is $20.00–$24.00 per hour, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
