Job Description
A growing organization is looking for a Staff Accountant to provide temporary support to its accounting team. This position will handle a mix of accounts payable, expense reporting, reconciliations, shipping transactions, vendor communication, and general accounting support. The Staff Accountant will also assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close while helping maintain accurate financial records.
This is a good opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, can work independently, and is comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Process invoices, employee expense reimbursements, and corporate credit card receipts
- Review, reconcile, and enter shipping transactions on a weekly basis
- Contact inventory vendors regarding outstanding invoices
- Research and resolve vendor issues
- Analyze shipping data and work with management on shipping contract performance
- Audit corporate credit card transactions
- Deposit checks into the bank weekly
- Help ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting information
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
- Maintain accounting records through scanning, filing, and auditing documentation
- Assist with special projects and assigned analysis
- Maintain confidentiality of company information
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in Accounting or currently working toward a degree preferred
- Working knowledge of accounting and internal controls
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong Excel skills
