Staff Accountant – AP/AR & Cash Accounting | Direct Hire | $56,000–$68,000 + Bonus
Join an established organization seeking an Accountant I to join its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent accounting graduate or early-career professional looking to build a strong foundation across accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash activity, reconciliations, and operational accounting. Prior professional accounting experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with relevant coursework, internships, or other experience demonstrating a strong accounting foundation and ability to learn are encouraged to apply.
What You’ll Do
- Support day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
- Process payments and maintain accurate accounting records
- Apply cash and assist with customer and vendor account maintenance
- Monitor daily cash activity and movement within company bank accounts
- Prepare cash-related accounting entries and assist with account balancing
- Research and resolve transaction and account discrepancies
- Assist with journal entries and basic reconciliations
- Support assigned regulatory reporting activities
- Maintain accounting procedures and process documentation
- Assist with special projects and process improvements
What We’re Looking For
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
- Accounting, AP, AR, or cash management experience preferred but not required
- Internship experience or relevant accounting coursework will be considered
- Basic understanding of journal entries and reconciliations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas and pivot tables
- Ability to identify discrepancies, ask questions, and escalate issues appropriately
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to quickly learn new accounting systems and processes
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
