Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Strategic Account Manager to manage and grow strategic relationships across the North American Off Highway market, including agriculture equipment, construction and heavy equipment, and powersports. The successful candidate will take ownership of an existing portfolio of major accounts while identifying opportunities to expand current business and develop new customers. Exact product experience is not required. The organization provides strong technical support through engineering, program management, manufacturing, and other internal resources.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and expand strategic relationships with major Off Highway OEM customers across agriculture, construction equipment, powersports, and related markets.
- Develop and execute account plans and customer roadmaps aligned with long term growth objectives.
- Protect and grow existing business while identifying and developing new opportunities within current and prospective customer accounts.
- Build relationships with key customer stakeholders across purchasing, engineering, product development, manufacturing, technical centers, and leadership.
- Lead commercial discussions including proposals, quotations, pricing strategy, negotiations, contractual terms, and account profitability.
- Partner closely with engineering, program management, manufacturing, finance, purchasing, and other internal teams to develop customer focused solutions.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, account plans, opportunity pipelines, and customer activity.
- Monitor customer priorities, market trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies to identify future business opportunities.
- Represent the organization during customer visits, industry events, trade shows, workshops, and strategic meetings.
- Travel throughout North America as needed to strengthen customer relationships and support business development.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Key Account Management, Strategic Sales, Business Development, OEM Sales, or a related customer facing commercial role.
- Established relationships within the Off Highway OEM market strongly preferred.
- Experience selling into agriculture, construction equipment, powersports, commercial vehicle, powertrain, or related OEM markets.
- Strong preference for experience managing relationships with customers such as Caterpillar, John Deere, CNH, JCB, Polaris, Arctic Cat, BRP, or comparable OEMs.
- Experience selling technical components, engineered systems, or vehicle related products into complex OEM organizations.
- Strong combination of account management and business development skills with a hunter farmer mentality.
- Comfortable working within an engineering driven environment and discussing technical products with customer engineering and purchasing teams.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30% throughout North America.
