Job Description
An established steel manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Press Brake & Shear Operator to support its fabrication operations. In this role, you will operate metal-forming and cutting equipment, interpret shop drawings, measure materials, and produce components to required specifications. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with strong fabrication skills, shop math knowledge, and experience working safely around heavy materials and equipment. The position is temporary-to-hire with opportunities for long-term growth based on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Operate press brake, shear, and other metal-bending equipment
- Read and interpret shop drawings to complete fabrication work accurately
- Measure, cut, and bend materials according to drawings and specifications
- Change dies and calculate material sizes, tolerances, and allowances
- Use an overhead crane to safely position and move materials as required
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2–3 years of press brake and shear experience
- Ability to read and understand shop drawings
- Knowledge of tolerances and allowances related to shearing and metal fabrication
- Ability to read both English and metric tape measures and use measuring devices accurately
- Strong working knowledge of shop math
- Previous experience operating an overhead crane

The base pay range for this position is $18.00–$20.00 per hour, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
