Job Description
A textile manufacturer is seeking a dependable Card Operator to support daily production in Kings Mountain, NC. This position operates carding equipment and supplies fiber and reworkable fiber to machine hoppers for proper opening and blending. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, comfortable in a hands-on manufacturing environment, and able to meet production and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Supply fiber and reworkable fiber to carding machine hoppers
- Inspect machinery and equipment before startup to ensure safe operation
- Open raw-material bales, remove wires and coverings, and store materials properly
- Keep hoppers filled, distribute fiber evenly, repair ends down, doff cans, and move cans to the drawing storage area
- Maintain a clean work area, handle waste properly, and follow safety procedures and supervisor instructions
Qualifications and Requirements
- Ability to read and follow job instructions
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the production area
- Ability to lift 5–10 pound bags of fiber and move 100 pound cans
- Ability to wear required PPE, including hearing protection, eye protection, and Kevlar gloves
