Job Description
As a Temporary Facilities & Safety Specialist, you will support facility operations, maintenance coordination, and safety compliance across 11 Early Childhood Education/Head Start centers and one administrative building throughout Georgia and Alabama. This role will work closely with the Maintenance Technician and Director of Operations to identify facility needs, coordinate repairs, complete inspections, and help maintain safe and compliant environments across multiple locations.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Technician to prioritize, coordinate, and address facility repair and maintenance needs across multiple locations
- Conduct facility inspections to identify maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and areas requiring corrective action
- Coordinate repairs with vendors and contractors and follow up to ensure completion
- Monitor and track work orders through the Blue Folder system
- Support regulatory compliance activities related to facility safety requirements
- Conduct playground and outdoor environment inspections
- Maintain inspection reports, documentation, and facility-related records
- Travel to multiple centers throughout the service area as needed
- Communicate facility updates and maintenance concerns with center leadership, vendors, and management staff
- Assist with additional facility and safety projects as assigned
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain compliance with company and regulatory requirements
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous experience in facilities management, property maintenance, building operations, or safety compliance preferred
- Knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems
- Ability to identify safety hazards and recommend appropriate corrective actions
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Excellent documentation and recordkeeping skills
- Ability to work independently while following direction from management
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license required
- Clear motor vehicle record (MVR) required
- Reliable transportation required
- Ability to successfully complete required background screenings
