Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join a growing industrial service and repair operation. In this role, you will operate manual machining equipment including VTLs, engine lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses to manufacture and repair precision components. The ideal candidate has strong measurement and blueprint-reading skills and can work with tight tolerances in a safety-focused environment. This position offers the opportunity to work on large industrial equipment while contributing to high-quality repair and fabrication projects.
Responsibilities:
- Operate manual machining equipment including VTLs, engine lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses
- Machine, repair, and fabricate precision components to required specifications and tolerances
- Utilize measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision tools to verify dimensions
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and drawings to complete machining projects accurately
- Safely operate overhead cranes, lifting equipment, and rigging as needed
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of manual machining experience; 6+ years preferred
- Experience operating manual lathes, VTLs, and other conventional machine shop equipment
- Ability to read and use precision measuring tools including micrometers and dial indicators
- Ability to hold tight tolerances up to ± .001 inch
- Strong math skills and ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions

The base salary range for this position is $25-$30, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
