Job Description
The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across agricultural facilities, including feedlots, swine operations, grain systems, and employee housing. This role ensures reliable electrical service to support daily operations, animal welfare, and facility performance. The position requires strong troubleshooting skills, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work in demanding environments. This is a hands-on role with both preventative maintenance and emergency repair responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in agricultural and facility environments
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform permanent, code-compliant repairs
- Ensure proper operation of ventilation, heating, feeding, and watering systems
- Follow all OSHA, NEC, and company safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout
- Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and support operational efficiency
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 3+ years of electrical experience (agricultural or industrial preferred)
- Knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work in confined spaces and varying environments
