Job Description
One of the premier healthcare clinics is seeking a Referral Coordinator who will verify and order referrals ensuring a smooth patient experience at time of appointment.
Responsibilities:
- Verifies order/referral is complete and matches scheduled office visit, including indexing and exporting physicians’ order to correct patient account.
- Completes and accurately enters patient demographic information into Epic.
- Reviews incoming referrals received via fax, email or referrals workque for completeness and follows up for additional information if necessary.

- Completes and accurately enters patient demographic information into Epic.
- Schedules and provides callers with important information related to their appointment (i.e. Prep information for test, directions, order management etc.).
- Maintains and updates schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled accurately.
- Communicates with patients to ensure follow-through with referrals/orders.
- Coordinates the process of referring patients to appropriate clinics/testing sites.
- Communicates status of appointment to internal and external referring physicians.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 1 year or more experience with processing referrals for a clinic/physician office setting or have appointment scheduling experience within Epic.
- Must have completed High School Diploma or GED.
