Job Description
This Controller role is a hands-on position responsible for overseeing the financial operations of a portfolio of real estate properties and development projects. You will manage full-cycle accounting, produce monthly financial reporting, and support budgeting, forecasting, and compliance efforts. Working closely with property managers, you will help ensure accurate financial performance tracking, cost management, and adherence to regulatory requirements. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a multi-entity environment and enjoys being directly involved in the day-to-day accounting functions without direct reports.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial statements and analyze budget variances
- Manage full-cycle accounting including AP, AR, and general ledger
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting across multiple properties
- Ensure GAAP compliance, tax coordination, and audit support
- Partner with property managers on financial performance and expenses
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience (property accounting strongly preferred)
- Experience with multi-entity or partnership accounting structures
- CPA preferred, not required
- Experience with Yardi Breeze Premier or similar systems preferred
