Job Description
This role is a relationship-driven Loan Officer position based in the Valparaiso branch, focused on commercial and agricultural lending. You will be responsible for developing new business, managing and growing an existing portfolio, and serving as a trusted advisor within the local community. This position also offers the opportunity to support and mentor a junior Branch Manager while helping drive overall branch performance and growth.
What You Will Do
- Develop and grow commercial and agricultural loan portfolio
- Build and maintain strong client relationships in the local market
- Generate new business through community involvement and networking
- Analyze credit and structure loan deals responsibly
- Support and mentor junior branch leadership as needed
What You Bring
- Experience in commercial and/or agricultural lending
- Strong business development and relationship-building skills
- Ability to balance sales, credit analysis, and client management
- Community involvement or willingness to build local presence
- Mentorship mindset or ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Agricultural lending or ag business exposure
- Community banking experience
- Background in finance, accounting, or credit analysis with sales aptitude
