Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Certified Medical Coder with cardiovascular experience to support a busy healthcare practice in Houston. This role is responsible for accurately assigning diagnosis and procedure codes for cardiology services while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and payer regulations.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Certified Medical Coder with cardiovascular experience to support a busy healthcare practice in Houston. This role is responsible for accurately assigning diagnosis and procedure codes for cardiology services while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and payer regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Review patient charts and assign accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for cardiovascular and cardiology services
- Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with CMS regulations, payer guidelines, and documentation standards
- Communicate with providers and clinical staff to clarify documentation when necessary
- Identify and resolve coding edits, denials, or discrepancies related to cardiology procedures
- Maintain productivity and quality standards while supporting revenue cycle operations
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Active Certified Professional Coder (CPC), CCS, or equivalent certification required
- Cardiovascular or cardiology coding certification and experience required
- Minimum 2 years of medical coding experience, preferably within a cardiology or cardiovascular specialty
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and medical terminology
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret clinical documentation accurately

The range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role, and hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
