Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Process Technician to support the extraction and refinement of specialized botanical compounds from plant materials. This role is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining extraction and processing equipment while ensuring quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in chemical processing, botanical extraction, or pharmaceutical/nutraceutical manufacturing environments and is disciplined, data-driven, and able to repeat standardized processes reliably.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor extraction systems used to isolate targeted botanical compounds, following established SOPs
- Execute extraction, filtration, purification, and concentration steps while monitoring critical parameters (temperature, pressure, flow, solvent ratios)
- Prepare raw botanical materials for processing (milling, weighing, batching) and maintain accurate batch records and production logs
- Perform in-process sampling and basic analytical testing to verify quality standards and identify process deviations
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain equipment/work areas; troubleshoot issues and escalate as needed while adhering to GMP and OSHA standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize yield, purity, and efficiency
- Maintain a strong focus on safety and standardized processes
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in extraction, chemical processing, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or similar regulated manufacturing environments preferred
- Knowledge of solvent-based extraction and purification techniques (filtration, distillation, chromatography, or related methods)
- Familiarity with GMP and regulated production environments
- Ability to read and follow technical procedures and safety documentation
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Quality Assurance experience
- Ability to lift 35 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time
- Disciplined and accountable
- Clarity: defined and data-driven with the ability to repeat the same processes
- Knowledge of hazardous material handling and solvent recovery systems

The base pay range for this position is $20.00 an hour, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation.
