Job Description
We are seeking a reliable Material Sorter to join a fast-paced plastics recycling manufacturing facility. In this role, you will inspect and sort recyclable plastic materials while operating sit-down forklifts to transport and stage materials throughout the facility. This position plays an important role in maintaining quality standards and supporting production efficiency. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and experienced operating forklifts in an industrial or warehouse environment.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect and sort recyclable plastic materials by type and quality standards
- Remove contaminated or non-conforming materials from processing lines
- Operate sit-down forklifts to load, unload, move, and stage materials
- Supply production lines with materials and remove finished goods
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following safety and OSHA guidelines
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of forklift experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Experience operating sit-down forklifts required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods during shifts
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify material differences
- Ability to work in an industrial environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
