Job Description
The Regional EHS Specialist supports an industrial distribution company by leading environmental, health, and safety initiatives across multiple facilities within a designated region. This role ensures compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations, conducts site audits and risk assessments, leads incident investigations, and delivers safety training. Partnering closely with operations and leadership, the specialist works to strengthen safety culture, reduce workplace risk, manage regulatory reporting, and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance. This position requires regular regional travel and the ability to operate effectively in both office and industrial site environments.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary EHS point of contact for assigned regional facilities
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable state and local regulations
- Conduct site audits, inspections, and risk assessments; track and close corrective actions
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions
- Support emergency preparedness planning and response activities
- Deliver EHS training, including new hire, refresher, and specialized safety training
- Monitor and report key EHS metrics (injury rates, near misses, environmental data)
- Partner with operations and leadership to integrate safety into daily activities
- Manage regulatory reporting, permits, and required documentation
- Support workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work programs
- Travel regularly to regional sites (up to 60%)
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field
- 3–5 years of EHS experience, preferably in a multi-site or regional role
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations
- Experience conducting audits, investigations, and safety training
- Ability to develop and implement EHS policies and programs
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels of the organization
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS management systems
- Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, CIH, or CHMM (preferred)
- Experience in manufacturing, construction, logistics, or other industrial environments (preferred)
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards (preferred)
- Ability to walk industrial or manufacturing sites and wear required PPE
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 60%

The base pay range for this position is $95,000 – $105,000 excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
