Job Description:
The General Counsel serves as the senior legal executive responsible for legal strategy, risk management, and transactional leadership across the company’s real estate development, construction, and operating platform.
Responsibilities:
- Lead legal strategy across the full real estate development lifecycle, including acquisitions, entitlements, financing, construction, and dispositions.
- Structure and negotiate joint ventures, operating agreements, and complex capital stacks.
- Advise on land acquisition strategy, purchase agreements, zoning, and development approvals.
- Oversee title, survey, land use matters, and negotiations with municipalities on development agreements and incentives.
- Lead lender negotiations, loan documentation, and financing transactions with capital partners.
- Provide legal department leadership, including supervising Associate General Counsel, managing external counsel, and building scalable legal processes
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Significant experience advising real estate developers, sponsors, or owner/operators
• Deep familiarity with development agreements, joint ventures, and construction contracting
• Experience with public incentives, municipal agreements, or public-private partnerships
• Understanding of real estate capital stacks and deal economics
